Go on a date with Lucario (or don’t). The game has a prologue that explains that the Lucario from the Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie and is now with you, but that’s about it in terms of plot.
- Where to get: Newgrounds page
- Cost: Free
- Love Interests: Lucario (most likely male cause of the sequel)
- Endings: Three
- First play through time: Less than a minute
- Time to get all endings: Around 3 minutes (with a cat in front of the computer screen)
As I said, the beginning of the game has a prologue that scrolls words like a credits screen. It explains a bit of the plot of the movie and the background of this Lucario, but it moves super slow and you can’t skip it. I did like having some background, though. I have seen the movie years ago (it came out in 2005), so it threw me into some nostalgia. The creator confirmed with me that the player is intended to be male as well as the Lucario, so it would be a BL game.
The game has music, and I actually really liked it. They said the music is from Snatcher, and I have no idea what that means lol. The game also has drawn pics of Lucario, not official sprites, and I appreciated the effort. A lot of fan dating sims just use official sprites.
The text throughout the whole game is slow, but it’s programmed so each click advances the screen (and makes the screen flash), so you can’t make the text go faster.
The game has three endings I think; a love ending, a rejection ending, and a day off ending. The game is also really short, so reading this review probably took longer than playing it would.
Should you play?:
The game was really cute, so if you’re a fan of Lucario, go ahead and give it a go. It’ll take you less time than reading this review.
The game is actually a series, so I plan on playing those as well.
