{Otome Review} Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure~NIS America {DS}

Cornet, a girl who can talk to puppets, has to save Prince Ferdinand who she has fallen in love with at first sight. The game is a musical RPG.

The game play is much like other RPGs where you walk around form area to area and there is a map screen that lets you select where you go. The game is way easier than other RPG’s I have played though. A full play-through took me less than 24 hours (somewhere around 18, and that was doing some of the side quests you don’t have to do), so don’t expect to be playing this game a long time. The game had adorable graphics, and being able to use puppets in battle was a neat idea. The biggest game play problem is that there were several times where I had no idea where to go. Once I had to find someone, and it turns out they were in a place I had been hours ago. They weren’t there for any logical reason, they just were.

But the biggest problem is I can’t stress enough how TERRIBLE the DS version is compared to the PS1 edition. I’m going to make a list of some differences just to show how bad this disparity is.

{Otome Review} Summer Paradise~Ran + Summer Paradise Redux~Godline

Original title screen
Redux title screen

Summer Paradise and Redux follow Casey, a girl coming back to her home town on vacation after having been gone for years. There, she has to try to find a date for a party going on. Could one of her childhood friends be her date? Or could someone else?

Summer Paradise was created by Ran, a visual novel writer and creator. The game features free assets. Later, for NaNoRenO 2017, the visual novel group Godline picked the game up and made an updated remake of the game called Summer Paradise Redux. They consulted with Ran and added bonus scenes, CG’s and a CG gallery, and sprites made for the game.

{Otome Review} Imagine Makeup Artist~Ubisoft {DS}

You play as a makeup training, going to school to become a makeup artist and get a pro-license, though a better title for the game would be, “Imagine Makeup Artist: Scrub Dishes Since You’ll Never Make it Big.”

I don’t just make that title to be comical, I’m quite serious. In this game you have different makeup challenges where you have to do someone’s makeup, but since you don’t know anything, you have to go around town and ask people their opinion. Then, you do their makeup and get paid. But, doing makeup takes ends the day, so you can only do it once per day. The money you make from this can’t afford almost any of the clothes. You unlock various jobs around town, and the easiest one is being a dish washer. It’s just a rubbing game where you have to rub the stuff off of dishes, but if you play it on hard mode and are good at moving your hand really fast, you can make a bunch of money. Still, not enough though, so you have to do it a bunch. I am a dish washer, not a makeup artist.
